My dear glasses,
Now is 10 pm. You have fallen asleep besides me. I write this letter to you to thank you for your help.
When I was a little girl, I used to wear my father’s glasses; it made me look elegant and smart. So I hoped I could have a pair of eyeglasses one day.
I remember when I first saw you, I was 14 years old. I went to the hospital to have my eyes examined, because I found I couldn’t see the blackboard in focus. The doctor told me I had a short sight. I know my eyes were ill, but in fact, I was a little excited when I heard this news. Because I knew I would have a pair of glasses.
I entered the glasses shop in an exciting state of mind. I walked around the counter, seeing all kinds of glasses. Suddenly, I found you, lying there silence, like a shy girl, but nobody knew how special you are in my eyes! I took you to my home, and I believe we would be the best friend.
Every night, we stay at the balcony and look at the sky. Because of you, I can see the sleek stars shining in the sky clearly. When I go to bed, you will always sit besides me and staring at me till I close my eyes.
The thing you like best is accompany me to school. I think maybe you like what my teachers say. But one day, an unexpected thing happened to you. I opened a book while you were sitting on it. You fell down to the ground but I didn’t even notice! Then, a terrible thing happened… A boy in my class stepped on you and you got badly injured! Do you know how nervous I was at that moment? I didn’t know what I could do to help you and I afraid you would leave me forever. Finally, my father took you to the hospital. Two days later, you come back home in good shape and I pledged I wouldn’t let you get hurt in the future.
Time flies, you have been accompanying me through six years. Maybe you don’t know, you have become a part of my life. My world will be vague without you. It’s you that help me to see the beauty of this colorful world. My father once told me that performing a operation could cure the short sight, but I said to him, “I won’t do the surgery, I like the sense of wearing glasses and I love my glasses.”
So I think, I will live with you forever, my dear glasses. And I know you will never leave me alone wherever I go, you will support me whatever I do, because you are my best friend, right?
Ok, what I could say to you is “thank you”. Hope you have a good dream tonight, my dear glasses.
Yours,
EyePal
